Zillion II - The Tri Formation is one of those weird, underrated Sega Master System gems. It's a side-scrolling action game with a sci-fi twist—you control a trio of characters (JJ, Champ, and Apple) who can switch on the fly, each with their own abilities. JJ's the balanced one, Champ's a tank, and Apple... well, she jumps higher, which honestly saves you more often than you'd think.

The levels are these maze-like spaceship interiors with flick-screen transitions (classic '80s style), and you're blasting robots, dodging traps, and hunting for keycards. The first time I played, I got lost almost immediately—those corridors all look the same—but once you get the hang of it, there's something satisfying about figuring out the layout.

Oh, and the music? Absolute banger. That Sega FM synth sound gives it this weirdly intense vibe, especially during boss fights. Just don't expect a walk in the park—some of those jumps are brutal.
