About Yu Yu Hakusho - Tournament Tactics (u)(venom)
Yu Yu Hakusho: Tournament Tactics came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, published by Atari. It was part of that wave of GBA games based on popular anime series, and it landed right when the handheld was full of these kinds of tactical adaptations. You take control of Yusuke Urameshi and his friends from the series, diving into a new storyline built around a fighting tournament, which fits perfectly with the show's spirit.
You move your team on a grid based map, engaging in turn based battles against other fighters. The main goal is to progress through the tournament brackets, defeating a series of opponents to become the champion. Key mechanics include using special Spirit Energy attacks that drain a meter, and positioning your characters to flank enemies or provide support. The game has a steady pace, not overly fast, and the difficulty can spike during some of the boss fights.
