Yu-Gi-Oh! Ultimate Masters: World Championship Tournament 2006 came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, published by Konami. It was one of the later Yu-Gi-Oh! titles on the GBA, arriving when the handheld was still widely played but nearing the end of its main lifecycle. This game focused squarely on the card battling that defined the series, offering a structured tournament path instead of a larger story mode.
You control a custom duelist aiming to win the world championship. Your main objective is to duel a series of opponents, earn new cards, and build a stronger deck to progress. Signature mechanics include navigating through different tournament brackets and challenge modes, where you face increasingly difficult AI opponents. You spend a lot of time fine-tuning your deck, testing card combinations, and managing your limited card pool. The pacing is methodical, built around repeated duels and collection, with a noticeable difficulty spike against later rivals. It feels like a dedicated grind to perfect your strategy and finally claim the top spot.
