I picked up Yu-Gi-Oh! - Sugoroku No Sugoroku for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, a Konami release that fit right in with the portable dueling craze of that era. It was a different take on the usual card battling, something you'd pop in for a quick session between classes or on a long car ride.

You control Yugi, moving him around a digital board in a turn-based race against other characters. The main goal is to reach the end of the board first, but the real meat is in the duels that trigger when you land on certain spaces. You build a deck beforehand, and these encounters play out with the familiar rules of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Beyond just moving and dueling, you also collect items and can set traps on the board to slow down your opponents, which adds a nice layer of strategy to the simple race. The pacing is generally relaxed, though a bad dice roll or an unlucky duel can set you back significantly. It feels like a lighthearted, almost casual way to engage with the Yu-Gi-Oh! mechanics without the intensity of a pure tournament simulator.
