Yu-Gi-Oh! Destiny Board Traveler came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, published by Konami. It was a time when the handheld was full of spin-offs and experimental titles, and this one took the card game in a different direction, moving it onto a digital board.

You control one of the main characters from the anime, moving a token around a virtual game board. Your main goal is to reach the end space before your opponent does. The game uses a turn-based system where you roll a die to move, and you can draw and set Spell and Trap cards directly onto the board spaces to hinder your rival or protect yourself. You also summon monsters to battle when you land on the same space, resolving the fight with simplified versions of the card game's rules. The pacing is deliberate, more about strategic positioning than fast action, and it can be surprisingly difficult to manage your resources against a smart AI. It feels like a tense, tactical race where every roll of the die matters.
