Xena : Warrior Princess Game

Alright, so Xena: Warrior Princess on Game Boy Color—it’s exactly what you’d expect from a late '90s licensed game, but in a good way. You jump right in as Xena, slashing through enemies with her chakram (which, honestly, feels way more satisfying than it should on a tiny screen). The sprites are surprisingly decent for GBC, and the combat’s got this simple-but-weighty feel—like, when you land a hit, you feel it.
There’s a bit of platforming, some basic puzzles (think "push the block to reach the ledge" stuff), and yeah, the story’s basically a condensed episode of the show. If you’re a fan, you’ll recognize the villains and the campy dialogue, but even if you’ve never seen the series, it’s a solid hack-and-slash with just enough variety to keep you swinging. Just don’t expect deep RPG mechanics—this is pure button-mashing fun with a side of nostalgia.
Also, pro tip: the chakram’s range is your best friend. You’ll figure that out after the first few times a skeleton archer ruins your day.
