World of Aden: Thunderscape is a fantasy role-playing game released in 1995 for the MS-DOS platform. It was developed by Strategic Simulations, Inc. and published by Mindscape, Inc. The game presents a first-person perspective and is set in a world where a steam-powered industrial revolution, known as the Thunder Age, has been disrupted by a catastrophic event called the Darkfall.

The player controls a custom party of up to six adventurers. Characters are created by selecting from various races, including standard fantasy types like elves and dwarves as well as races unique to this setting, and then assigning a character class and initial combat skills. The primary objective involves exploring dark underground areas that serve as strongholds for evil forces, specifically hordes of creatures known as nocturnals and their human collaborators called the Corrupted. Progression is structured around navigating these dungeon environments, engaging in turn-based combat that occurs on the same screen as exploration, and managing character development.

Gameplay systems focus on party-based dungeon crawling and tactical character advancement. As characters earn experience through combat, they gain levels, allowing the player to improve their statistics or have them learn new magical spells.
