Final Fantasy Sonic X4 is one of those weird, chaotic Flash mashups that somehow works. You’ve got Sonic squaring off against this massive armored dude called The Guardian—it’s all dramatic sword clashes and over-the-top anime-style attacks. Meanwhile, Tails and Knuckles are stuck fighting Aeon and Bass in these side battles that feel like they belong in a completely different game (in a good way).

There’s even this random mini-game where Tails goes one-on-one with Aeon, and it’s way more fun than it has any right to be. The whole thing’s janky in that classic Flash way, but the energy is just infectious. If you ever wanted to see Sonic swinging a sword like a JRPG hero, here’s your chance.
