Man, Woody Woodpecker on Game Boy Color takes me back. You start off pecking through these bright, cartoony levels that feel ripped straight from the old show—complete with that goofy laugh of his. At first it seems simple, just hopping on platforms and avoiding Buzz Buzzard, but then you hit these sections where you’re bouncing off springs or dodging falling coconuts, and suddenly it’s way more chaotic than you expected.
The controls are a little stiff (it is a GBC game, after all), but there’s something weirdly satisfying about tapping the peck button to chip away at obstacles. And the music? Pure nostalgia, with those bouncy tunes that stick in your head. It’s not the deepest platformer, but if you grew up with Woody’s antics, it’s a solid little time capsule.
Just don’t blame me when you start humming the theme song for days.
