About Wonder Boy (usa, Europe)
Wonder Boy came out on the Sega Master System, published by Sega. It was one of the earlier action games for the system, a side scrolling adventure that felt distinct from other platformers of the time.
You control a boy named Tom-Tom, running and jumping through forests, caves, and seaside areas to rescue his girlfriend Tanya. Your main goal is to travel from the start of each level to the end before your constantly depleting life meter runs out. You throw stone axes at enemies like snails and birds, and you can find skateboards to ride for a temporary speed boost and protection. The game is split into many short, screen by screen areas, and the challenge comes from managing your health while navigating the precise jumps and enemy patterns.
