Wings of Fury on Game Boy Color is one of those games that nails the arcade dogfighting feel without overcomplicating things. You jump straight into the cockpit, guns blazing—enemy planes swarm in from all sides, and the ground targets actually take some strategy to hit without getting shredded by anti-air fire. The controls are tight for a GBC game, though pulling off sharp turns while dodging bullets still feels just risky enough to keep you on edge.
It’s got that classic "one more run" energy—missions are short but punishing if you get sloppy. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, especially the explosions when you finally nail that bomber before it drops its payload. If you’ve played the original, the GBC version smooths out the rough edges without losing what made it fun. Just don’t expect to ace it on your first try—enemy fighters love ganging up on you the second you let your guard down.
