Wimbledon Ii (europe) Game

Wimbledon II on the Sega Master System is exactly what it sounds like—a no-frills tennis game from the late '80s. You get simple controls (just swing and hope), blocky players that slide around the court, and that classic green-on-green pixelated grass. It’s not exactly realistic—sometimes the ball just phases through your racket—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about the way the AI opponent suddenly turns into a backhand god when you’re about to win.
If you’ve played the first Wimbledon, this is basically the same thing with slightly less jank. Still, it’s one of those games where you either love the clunky charm or quit after five minutes. I lost my first match 6-0 and immediately demanded a rematch.
