I picked up Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (E)(Venom) for the Game Boy Advance, a port of the popular quiz show. It was developed by JV Games and published by Disney Interactive, arriving on a handheld already crowded with puzzle and trivia titles. This version tried to capture the tension of the TV experience on a small screen.
You play as a contestant answering multiple-choice questions to win virtual money. The main goal is to correctly answer fifteen consecutive questions, climbing from one hundred pounds to one million. The game uses the show's signature mechanics: you have three lifelines, like "Phone a Friend" or "50:50," to eliminate wrong answers when you are stuck. You lock in your final choice with the A button, and a wrong answer ends your run. The pacing is deliberate, forcing you to think under the pressure of the climbing stakes.
