About Warioware Inc. : Mega Microgames!
WarioWare Inc.: Mega MicrogameS! came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Nintendo R&D1. It arrived when the GBA library was full of ambitious, long form adventures, but this game went in the opposite direction. It felt like a strange little experiment that didn't care about fitting in.
You control various characters, but mostly you are just tapping buttons and directions as fast as you can. The main objective is to survive a rapid fire series of microgames, each lasting only a few seconds. The core mechanics involve recognizing a simple command for each game, like "Dodge!" or "Shoot!", and executing it before time runs out. The games are grouped into character themed stages that gradually increase in speed, forcing you to react almost instinctively. It is a game of pure, frantic pattern recognition that leaves your palms sweaty and your mind buzzing.
