Wakeboarding Unleashed on GBA is one of those arcade-style sports games that’s way more fun than it has any right to be. You’re basically pulling off ridiculous tricks while getting yanked behind a speedboat—backflips, grabs, spins, the whole deal. The controls are simple enough to pick up fast, but nailing the timing for big combos takes practice.
What surprised me was how good the water physics feel for a handheld game. Wiping out actually looks painful, and landing a perfect trick right at the edge of the wake gives this weirdly satisfying "oh heck yes" moment. There’s a decent variety of courses too, from open lakes to tight river runs where you’re dodging rocks and buoys.
It’s not super deep, but for quick sessions when you just want to pull off some stupid aerial moves, it totally holds up. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into old-school extreme sports games.
