About Virtual Kasparov (u)(nobody)
Virtual Kasparov was a Game Boy Advance release from 2000, developed by Taito. It arrived early in the handheld's life, a time when developers were still exploring what the system could do. This was a portable chess game, pure and simple, without the frills of later titles.
You control the chess pieces, taking turns against the computer opponent. The main goal is to checkmate the opposing king. The game features adjustable difficulty levels, letting you face a range of challenges from beginner to expert. You can also take back moves, which is helpful for learning from mistakes. The pacing is methodical, as you'd expect from chess, and the higher AI settings provide a serious, thoughtful challenge. It feels like having a quiet, patient chess partner in your pocket.
