About Vip
VIP was a Game Boy Color title released in 2000, developed by HuneX and published by Atlus. It arrived during a period when the handheld was full of experimental titles trying to stand out from the crowd of platformers and RPGs. This game offered a different kind of challenge, one focused on stealth and evasion rather than direct confrontation.
You control a single character, a VIP, whose sole objective is to escape from each building floor by reaching the exit. The core gameplay involves navigating grid-based floors from a top-down perspective, avoiding guards who patrol along set paths. Your main tools are observation and timing; you watch guard patterns, hide behind furniture, and move only when it is safe. There is no combat, so being spotted means an immediate restart of the floor. The game is methodical and often difficult, demanding patience and careful planning for each move. It feels like a tense game of cat and mouse where a single mistake can undo all your progress.
