About V-rally - Championship Edition (en,fr,es)
V-Rally: Championship Edition came out in 1999 for the Game Boy Color, published by Infogrames. It was part of a wave of racing games trying to bring a more serious driving feel to the handheld, a time when developers were figuring out how to make small screens feel fast.
You control a rally car across a series of championship events. The main goal is to win each stage and climb the leaderboard to become the champion. The game uses a split screen view, showing your car on top and a map of the twisting track below. You have to manage your car's condition, as damage from hitting obstacles affects its handling. The stages are unforgiving; a single mistake can send you into the trees and ruin your time. Navigating the tight corners and listening for the co-driver's pace notes creates a tense, focused experience.
