Okay, so Unfabulous on the GBA is basically like playing through an episode of the early 2000s Nickelodeon show—but with way more awkward cafeteria decisions and questionable fashion choices. You’re Addie, the perpetually frazzled teen trying not to embarrass herself (good luck with that).
First thing you’ll notice? The pixel art nails that nostalgic vibe—lockers look like lockers, the school bully has a ridiculous haircut, and yeah, you’ll probably trip over your own feet in the hallway at least once. The gameplay’s a mix of mini-games and dialogue choices: do you sit with the cool kids and risk spilling lunch everywhere, or hide in the library pretending to study? (Spoiler: both backfire.)
It’s got that janky-but-charming GBA energy, like someone mashed up a visual novel with a Tamagotchi. Not gonna lie, some of the rhythm mini-games are brutal, but failing miserably at guitar in front of your crush feels weirdly authentic. If you ever wanted to relive the cringe of middle school with a side of pixelated angst, here’s your chance.
