Ultimate Puzzle Games on the GBA is basically a pocket-sized brain gym—if your gym had Sudoku, crosswords, and a bunch of other puzzles I’d never even heard of before. The first time I booted it up, I got stuck on this deceptively simple tile-sliding game for way longer than I’d like to admit. The pixel art has that cozy early-2000s handheld charm, and some puzzles actually get brutal after the first few warm-up levels.
What’s cool is how it mixes classics with weird little minigames—like one where you’re rearranging gears to power up a machine, which felt more like engineering homework than a game at first. Perfect for short bus rides or when you just want to zone out without totally turning your brain off. Just don’t blame me when you miss your stop because you’re one move away from solving a 15x15 grid.
