About Ultimate Beach Soccer
Ultimate Beach Soccer came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Magic Pockets. It was one of many sports titles on the system, a pocket sized take on the sand based version of football. You could find it in stores alongside other portable sports games, a straightforward option if you wanted something different from the usual soccer sims.
You control a team of five players on a sandy pitch, trying to score more goals than the opposing team. The game uses an overhead perspective, and you pass the ball between your players, perform sliding tackles to dispossess opponents, and unleash powerful special shots that fill a meter as you maintain possession. The pacing is quick, with matches consisting of two short, frantic halves. It feels chaotic and immediate, a fast arcade interpretation of the sport.
