Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Krome Studios. It was the third entry in the series, arriving at a time when the handheld was full of platformers and action adventures. This one continued the story of Ty, a Tasmanian tiger, as he faced off against a new threat to the outback.
You control Ty through interconnected levels, moving screen by screen to explore environments and fight the ghostly Quinkan enemies. Your main goal is to gather a set of talismans to seal the Quinkan away. You use a mix of boomerang throws for combat and puzzle solving, along with collecting opals to unlock new areas and abilities. The pacing is brisk, with some tricky platforming sections that require precise jumps. Playing it feels like a straightforward, energetic run through a colorful world.
