About Tron 2.0 : Killer App
Tron 2.0: Killer App came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Buena Vista Games. It arrived when the handheld was full of ambitious action titles trying to capture the feel of bigger console games. This one was based on the Tron 2.0 property, translating its digital world into a portable format.
You control Jet Bradley, exploring the computer network from an isometric perspective. Your main goal is to stop a malicious program from spreading, which involves moving through discrete, screen by screen areas. Signature mechanics include switching between your Identity Disc for ranged attacks and a heavier Data Pike for close quarters combat. You also collect and manage energy to upgrade your abilities, navigating maze like corridors and solving simple environmental puzzles. The pacing is deliberate, with some tricky enemy encounters that demand careful movement. Playing it feels like navigating a compact, sometimes unforgiving digital labyrinth.
