Trick Star (e)(independent) Game

Okay, so Trick Star on the GBA—this one’s a weird little gem. It’s got that early 2000s indie vibe where you can tell the devs just went for it, no big publisher polish. You’re basically this space pilot doing stunt tricks mid-flight, flipping and spinning through obstacle courses like some intergalactic X Games. The controls take a second to click—hold A to charge, release at the right angle to pull off wild spirals—but once it does, you’ll be nailing combos just for the fun of it.
The pixel art’s simple but charming, all bright colors and chunky ship designs. And yeah, you can totally play it on an emulator now, which is nice because tracking down an actual cart would be a pain. It’s the kind of game you boot up when you’ve got 15 minutes to kill and end up replaying the same level five times trying to top your high score.
