Okay, so Toy Story Racer on Game Boy Color is exactly what it sounds like—Woody, Buzz, and the crew crammed into tiny toy cars, racing through Andy’s room and Pizza Planet. The controls are simple (just gas, brake, and a turbo button), but the tracks have these little Toy Story touches—like dodging RC’s abandoned batteries or getting a speed boost from the Pizza Planet rocket.
Graphics are bright and chunky in that classic GBC way, and yeah, you can totally tell who’s who even with the tiny sprites. Pro tip: Hamm’s car handles like a shopping cart full of bricks, but Buzz’s ride is weirdly nimble. No idea why a spaceman’s toy car would corner better than a piggy bank, but here we are.
It’s not gonna dethrone Mario Kart, but for a licensed racer, it’s way more fun than it needed to be. Just don’t expect online multiplayer—this is strictly a "pass the Game Boy on the school bus" kind of experience.
