Remember that old-school Toy Story Racer on Game Boy Color? It’s basically a stripped-down version of the PS1 game, but honestly, it’s not bad for a handheld racer. You pick from Woody, Buzz, or a few other characters (I always went with the RC car—felt faster) and race through these chunky, colorful tracks based on the movies.
The controls are simple—just gas, brake, and a turbo button—but the tracks have these weird jumps and obstacles that keep things from being too predictable. The music’s got that classic GBC bleep-bloop energy, and the sprite work is surprisingly decent for the hardware. It won’t blow your mind, but if you’re into retro racers or Toy Story nostalgia, it’s a fun little time-waster.
Just don’t expect Mario Kart levels of polish.
