About Towers
I first played Towers on the Game Boy Color back when it was released in 2000. It was developed by Natsume, a company known for other handheld titles, and it fit right in with the kind of exploratory action games the system offered. You guide a young adventurer through a series of ancient towers, each one a self contained challenge. The graphics are simple but clear, using the limited color palette to create a distinct, moody atmosphere.
You control the hero directly, moving screen by screen through interconnected rooms. Your main goal is to climb each tower, fighting monsters and solving puzzles to reach the top. You use a sword for close combat and a bow for hitting distant switches or enemies. Collecting keys is essential; you'll often backtrack to open new paths. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes from enemy placement and figuring out the correct route. It feels like a methodical test of your patience and observation as you slowly conquer each floor.
