Touhoumon Blue Version Game

Okay, so Touhoumon Blue Version is basically Pokémon but with characters from the Touhou series—which, if you’re not familiar, is this bullet-hell shooter full of anime girls with ridiculous spell attacks. Now imagine those girls as your little pocket monsters, and you’ve got the idea.
You start off picking your first Touhoumon (I went with Reimu because she’s basically the Pikachu of this world), and then it’s classic Pokémon from there—wandering through tall grass, catching more characters, and battling trainers. The sprites are surprisingly well-done for a GBA romhack, and some of the moves are straight-up references to Touhou’s bullet patterns, which is a nice touch if you’re a fan.
It’s not just a lazy reskin, either. The typing system’s different (no more Water/Fire/etc.—instead you’ve got stuff like "Fantasy" and "Magic"), and some of the evolutions are weirdly specific. Took me forever to figure out how to get my Cirno to evolve. The difficulty’s a bit higher than your average Pokémon game, too—some of those boss fights will wreck you if you’re not prepared.
If you like Touhou or just want a Pokémon game that feels fresh without being totally unfamiliar, this one’s a solid pick.
