Okay, so imagine Pokémon but with Touhou characters—Reimu throwing danmaku instead of Pikachu sparking things up. That’s Touhoumon Another World in a nutshell. It’s a GBA romhack, so it’s got that cozy pixel-art vibe, but with way more frilly dresses and spell cards.

You start off picking your first "mon" (I went with Cirno because, well, she’s the strongest), and then it’s classic monster-catching with a twist—boss fights feel like actual bullet hell battles, dodging patterns while your team chips away. The sprites are surprisingly polished for a fan game, and some of the evolutions are hilarious (wait till you see what happens to a leveled-up Sakuya).

It’s not just a reskin, either. The typing system’s different—you’ve got stuff like "Dream" and "Magic" types, and some moves straight-up reference Touhou spell cards. If you’ve ever wanted to beat the Elite Four with a team of anime girls who also happen to be gods and vampires, this is your chance. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck grinding Yukari’s portal shenanigans.
