Okay, so Top Gun: Combat Zones on the GBA is exactly what it sounds like—you’re in a jet, you’re blasting enemy planes, and you’re trying not to crash into the ocean (which happens more than you’d think). The controls take a second to get used to—rolling and pulling off tight turns feels a little stiff at first, but once you get the hang of it, weaving through missile locks and lining up shots is pretty satisfying.
Missions are short and punchy, which works for handheld play. You’ll buzz through canyon runs, escort bombers, and yeah, there’s even a dogfight or two that’ll make you hum "Danger Zone" under your breath. The graphics are decent for the GBA—planes look like planes, explosions are chunky, and the framerate holds up when things get chaotic.
It’s not the deepest flight sim out there, but if you just wanna barrel roll through some arcadey air combat between bus rides, it does the job. Just don’t expect a full-on Top Gun story mode—this is all about the flying.
