About Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (u)(total Crap)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 arrived on the Game Boy Advance in 2001, published by Activision. This portable version attempted to bring the console skateboarding experience to a handheld, a common goal for many franchises during the early days of the GBA. It was a time when developers were still figuring out how to translate complex 3D games onto the small screen.
You control a professional skater, like Tony Hawk or Bob Burnquist, navigating small, isometric levels. The main objective is to complete two-minute runs, landing tricks to earn points and finding hidden items like the letters S-K-A-T-E. Signature mechanics include linking grinds and ollies together to build your score multiplier and performing the manual, a balance move that lets you chain combos across flat ground. The pacing is frantic as you race against the clock, and the isometric perspective makes judging jumps and landings difficult. Playing it feels like a constant struggle against the controls and the camera.
