Tom & Jerry in Mouse Attacks! is one of those classic Game Boy Color games that nails the cartoon’s chaotic energy. You pick either Tom or Jerry—each handles totally differently, which is cool because Jerry’s tiny jumps feel way more frantic than Tom’s lanky strides. The first level throws you right into it: dodging mousetraps, chucking random household objects at each other, and scrambling up furniture like the house is a giant obstacle course.
The pixel art actually holds up—Jerry’s smug little face when he steals cheese is perfect. Some of the platforming gets surprisingly tricky, especially when you’re playing as Tom and trying not to faceplant into yet another rake. It’s got that old-school "die and retry" vibe, but in a way that makes you laugh instead of rage. If you ever watched the cartoons as a kid, this feels like playing through an episode, complete with the same ridiculous physics.
Honestly, it’s a solid pick if you’re into retro platformers with personality. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on that one level with the bouncing springs for way too long.
