Rainbow Six on Game Boy Color is one of those weirdly ambitious ports that somehow works. You’re still leading a counter-terrorism squad, but now in this tiny top-down view where every shot counts. The planning phase is simplified but still tense—pick your loadout, assign waypoints, then pray your team doesn’t walk into an ambush.
It’s janky in that classic GBC way (good luck telling friend from foe in those pixelated hallways), but the core tension is there. One wrong move and your whole squad gets lit up. The missions are bite-sized compared to the console versions, which actually makes it perfect for quick sessions. Just don’t expect smooth controls—this is 2000s handheld tactical action at its most stubborn.
If you’ve got nostalgia for the era or just love seeing big franchises crammed onto tiny hardware, it’s a fascinating time capsule.
