Tokyo Xtreme Racer Advance is one of those GBA racers that actually nails the feeling of late-night street racing. You start off with a basic ride—nothing fancy—but the second you hit the Tokyo highways, it’s all about finding rivals, flashing your lights to challenge them, and then going head-to-head in tight, high-speed duels.
The customization isn’t super deep, but tweaking your car’s stats actually makes a difference—dump points into acceleration if you want quick getaways, or max out top speed for those long straights. The AI’s aggressive, too—they’ll try to block you or force mistakes, so you can’t just floor it and hope for the best.
It’s got that early 2000s arcade racer vibe, where the courses loop and the traffic keeps things unpredictable. Not gonna lie, the graphics are a little rough now, but the sense of speed still holds up. If you’ve got a soft spot for old-school street racers, this one’s a solid pick.
