Toca Touring Car Championship Game

Man, Toca Touring Car Championship on the Game Boy Color is one of those racers that somehow makes tiny pixels feel fast. You’ve got these chunky little touring cars that actually handle differently—some understeer like a shopping cart, others grip surprisingly well. The first race always feels chaotic, weaving through traffic while trying not to spin out on a tight corner.
What’s cool is how the AI drivers actually fight for position instead of just rolling over. You’ll see them bumping each other (and you) like they’ve got a personal grudge. The tracks aren’t just ovals either—there’s elevation changes, tricky chicanes, and rain races where your car slides all over the place. It’s way more technical than you’d expect from a GBC game.
Yeah, the graphics are obviously limited, but the sense of speed holds up. Just don’t expect to win your first championship—some of those later races are brutal. Still fun to fire up when you want a no-nonsense racing fix.
