About Time Soldiers
Time Soldiers came out on the Sega Master System, a cartridge from Sega that sent you hopping through different historical periods. It was one of those action games that felt ambitious for the hardware, trying to build whole worlds inside a modest cartridge.
You control a lone soldier fighting across time. Your goal is to survive each era, from prehistoric lands to medieval castles, and defeat the bosses waiting at the end. The game plays screen by screen; you clear one area of enemies before moving to the next. You have a basic sword for close combat and can pick up other weapons like a bow for attacking from a distance. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming quickly, and the difficulty can be punishing if you miss a power-up. It feels like a constant scramble for survival against overwhelming odds.
