Thunder Blade on the Master System is a decent port of Sega’s arcade helicopter shooter, but man, you can tell it’s missing that sweet pseudo-3D scaling from the original. Instead of buildings rushing past you with that cool depth effect, everything feels a bit flatter—still fun, just not as flashy.

You’re basically blasting through waves of enemy choppers and ground targets, weaving between obstacles that don’t quite pop like they did in the arcade. The controls are tight, though, and the music’s got that classic Sega energy. If you’ve played the arcade version, you’ll notice the difference right away, but it’s not a bad way to get your retro shooter fix.
