So, The Sum of All Fears on GBA—it’s basically a pocket-sized Tom Clancy spy thriller, but with way more pixelated trench coats. You play as this CIA operative (or sometimes an FBI agent, depending on the mission) sneaking through dimly lit corridors, defusing bombs, and occasionally sniping bad guys from rooftops. The controls take a second to get used to—hold R to aim, tap B to crouch—but once it clicks, it feels surprisingly tactical for a handheld.
Some missions drag you into straight-up firefights, while others are all about stealth. I remember one early level where you’re sneaking through a dock at night, and if you sprint, guards hear you instantly. Took me three tries to realize crawling was the move. The story’s got that classic Clancy paranoia—double agents, nukes, the usual—but honestly, I mostly skipped the cutscenes to get back to planting C4.
It’s not perfect—the AI sometimes walks into walls, and the graphics are… very 2002. But if you’ve got a soft spot for janky GBA shooters with a spy twist, this one’s weirdly satisfying. Just don’t expect Splinter Cell.
