Okay, so this is one of those classic GBA SpongeBob games—you know, the kind where the animation actually looks shockingly good for the hardware. The story kicks off with Neptune losing his crown, and somehow Mr. Krabs gets framed (come on, we all know Plankton’s behind this). SpongeBob and Patrick set off on this weirdly epic road trip to Shell City, and the whole thing plays like a mix of platforming and mini-games.
First thing you’ll notice? The controls are simple, but some of those jumps can be brutal if you don’t time them right. And Patrick… well, let’s just say he’s not the most helpful sidekick. Still, the writing nails the show’s humor, and the levels are packed with dumb little references that actually made me laugh. If you grew up with SpongeBob, this one’s a nostalgia trip worth playing—just don’t expect it to reinvent the wheel.
