Okay, so this is basically the SpongeBob movie turned into a GBA platformer, and it’s exactly as chaotic as you’d expect. You start off running around Bikini Bottom as SpongeBob, jumping on jellyfish and collecting… whatever those shiny things are. The controls feel a little floaty at first, but you get used to it.
What’s cool is how they crammed in scenes from the movie—like the whole "Neptune’s crown" mess—but turned them into these weird little levels where you’re dodging seagulls or riding a patty wagon. Plankton’s up to his usual nonsense, and the dialogue’s full of that dumb SpongeBob humor (which, let’s be honest, is half the appeal).
It’s not gonna win awards for difficulty, but there’s something satisfying about the way the levels mix simple platforming with dumb minigames. Also, Patrick shows up at one point to just… sit on things. Classic. If you ever watched the movie as a kid, this feels like playing through a weird, slightly janky scrapbook of it.
