Okay, so SpongeBob and Patrick are on a mission because—plot twist—Mr. Krabs somehow got framed for stealing King Neptune’s crown. Now they’ve gotta road-trip across Shell City to clear his name before things get ugly. Classic SpongeBob chaos, right?
It’s a side-scroller on the GBA, so you’re bouncing between platforms, collecting shiny things (because of course you are), and occasionally turning into SpongeBall form to crush enemies. Patrick’s there too, mostly just being Patrick—which means he’s either hilarious or accidentally messing things up. The humor’s spot-on for the show, and the levels feel like episodes, complete with jellyfish fields and that weird Dutchman’s graveyard. Not gonna lie, some of the jumps are weirdly precise, but the music’s catchy enough to keep you from rage-quitting.
If you ever wanted to play through a lost SpongeBob movie episode, this is pretty much it.
