I picked up The Simpsons: Road Rage for the Game Boy Advance back in 2003, a time when licensed games were a constant presence on the handheld. THQ published this one, and it was their attempt to shrink down the console driving experience into something you could take with you. It felt very much of its era, a straightforward arcade-style game built around a simple, repetitive concept.

You control various members of the Simpson family, driving them around Springfield to pick up passengers and drop them off at their destinations. The main objective is to earn enough money within a time limit to stop Mr. Burns from taking over the city's transit system. The core mechanics involve navigating the isometric streets, avoiding other cars, and trying to complete fares quickly. You can perform special moves, like a speed boost or a spin attack, to clear traffic or gain an advantage. The pacing is frantic, and the controls can feel a bit slippery, making some turns more difficult than they should be. It feels like a rushed, simplified version of its bigger console siblings, but there's a mindless fun to just driving around the familiar locations.
