Okay, so The Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris is one of those GBA games that somehow nails the whole "action hero in ancient Egypt" vibe without feeling like a cheap movie tie-in. You play as Mathayus—basically The Rock with a sword—hacking through skeletons, cultists, and the occasional giant scorpion (because of course). The combat’s simple but satisfying, and there’s just enough puzzle-solving to keep you from mindlessly button-mashing.
What surprised me was how good it looks for a GBA title—the temples and deserts actually feel alive, with torches flickering and sand blowing around. And yeah, if you’re into the whole Scorpion King lore, there are little nods everywhere, but even if you’re not, it’s a solid hack-and-slash with some clever level design. Just don’t expect a deep story—this is pure "swing sword, break pots, find key" energy.
Honestly, it’s one of those hidden gems that makes digging through old GBA carts worth it. You’ll probably finish it in an afternoon, but it’s a fun ride while it lasts.
