Okay, so The Proud Family on GBA is one of those early 2000s licensed games that’s way more fun than it has any right to be. You play as Penny Proud, running around neighborhoods, collecting items, and dealing with some seriously goofy side characters from the show. The controls are simple—just basic platforming and mini-games—but there’s something weirdly charming about how it leans into the cartoon’s humor.

First thing you’ll notice? The sprites actually look like the show, which was rare for licensed games back then. And yeah, the voice clips are compressed to hell, but hearing Penny say “That’s so not cool!” after missing a jump is weirdly nostalgic. It’s not gonna blow your mind, but if you grew up with the show, it’s a solid little time capsule. Just don’t expect a hidden masterpiece.
