If you're into classic SNK fighters but want something fresh for your GBA, The King of Fighters EX2 actually holds up surprisingly well. It's got that same tight 3v3 team combat from the arcade games, just scaled down for handheld—and somehow they made the sprites look decent on that tiny screen.
What makes this one stand out? They threw in a couple new faces you won't find in the main series, like Moe Habana (some schoolgirl with a baseball bat—weird but fun) and Jun Kagami (dude fights with playing cards, which sounds ridiculous until you get hit by three in a row). Still plays like proper KOF though—fast, combo-heavy, and that satisfying *crunch* when a counter hit lands.
Just don't expect arcade-perfect ports. The music's tinny, some animations are cut down, and good luck pulling off Max cancels with that mushy GBA d-pad. But for bus rides or waiting rooms? Still one of the better fighting options on the system.
