I picked up The Jungle Book on Game Boy Advance back in 2003, a Ubi Soft release that fit right in with the platform's library of movie tie-ins. It was a time when you could expect a side scrolling adventure based on a Disney property, and this one delivered exactly that kind of straightforward experience without much fuss.

You control Mowgli through a series of side scrolling levels, moving screen by screen through the jungle. Your main goal is simply to get to the end of each stage, navigating past snakes, monkeys, and other wildlife. The gameplay involves a lot of jumping across vines and platforms, and you can throw fruit to stun enemies temporarily. Some sections have you riding on the back of Baloo, which changes up the pace with a heavier, slower movement. The challenge is consistent, with pitfalls and enemy placements that require a bit of timing to get past. It feels like a compact, no nonsense adaptation that captures the basic run and jump spirit of the film.
