I picked up The Flintstones: Burgertime in Bedrock on Game Boy Color back in 2000. It was developed by Game Titan, one of those many licensed titles that filled the portable's library. This was during the peak of the GBC, when you'd find all sorts of cartoon and movie games on the cartridge shelf, and this one fit right in with its familiar characters and bright colors.

You control Fred Flintstone, and your goal is to rebuild the Bedrock Burger sign after it gets smashed. The game plays out screen by screen; you walk around each level collecting the scattered sign letters while avoiding enemies like the Grand Poobah's guards. You can't fight them directly, so you have to drop pickles and other food items on their heads to stun them temporarily. It's a methodical kind of game, not particularly fast, and the levels get tricky as more enemies appear and the layouts become more complex. The whole process of carefully navigating each stage, planning your drops, and grabbing the last letter before the timer runs out gives it a tense, puzzle-like feel.
