If you grew up watching The Fairly OddParents, this GBA game is basically a love letter to the show. You play as Timmy, bouncing between the weirdly normal suburbs and the absolute chaos of Fairy World—complete with Jorgen Von Strangle yelling at you and random fairy rulebooks popping up. The pixel art nails the cartoon’s style, and the writing’s got that same dumb-funny vibe.
Gameplay’s a mix of platforming and light puzzle-solving, with Cosmo and Wanda tossing out different wish powers depending on the situation. Some of the transformations feel a little clunky (looking at you, balloon arms), but messing around with them is half the fun. Also, the soundtrack? Pure early-2000s nostalgia, right down to the weird kazoo-like fairy noises.
It’s not the hardest game out there, but it’s packed with enough inside jokes and chaotic energy to keep you grinning. Just don’t blame me if you start hearing Timmy’s voice in your head afterward.
