Okay, so The Cat in the Hat on GBA is basically like playing through the book—if the book had you bouncing on umbrellas and dodging flying cakes. The first thing you’ll notice is how spot-on the art style is—all wobbly lines and bright colors, just like Dr. Seuss scribbled it himself.
You play as the Cat (obviously), and yeah, he’s just as much of a troublemaker here as in the story. The levels are these weird, Seuss-ian playgrounds where you’re balancing on stacks of books, hopping over giant fishbowls, and collecting… whatever those sparkly things are. The controls are simple—jump, slide, maybe bonk something with your umbrella—but some of the platforming gets surprisingly tricky.
Honestly, the best part is the little details, like how Thing 1 and Thing 2 pop up to cause chaos or the way the music sounds like a kazoo orchestra. It’s short, kinda silly, and exactly what you’d want from a game where logic takes a backseat to pure nonsense. If you ever wanted to wreck a house with cartoon physics while wearing a striped hat, this is your chance.
