The Bard's Tale II: The Destiny Knight is a fantasy role-playing game released in 1988 for MS-DOS. Developed by Interplay Productions and published by Electronic Arts, it is the second title in the series, following Tales of the Unknown. The game is a first-person dungeon crawler featuring turn-based combat and continues the narrative of its predecessor.

Players control a custom party of adventurers tasked with retrieving the seven scattered pieces of the Destiny Wand to defeat the archmage Lagoth Zanta. The party can consist of up to seven active characters, created from various races including human, elf, dwarf, hobbit, half-elf, half-orc, and gnome. Additional characters can be created and stored in city guilds for later use. Gameplay involves navigating a larger world than the previous installment, exploring six distinct towns and an overworld map, while delving into dungeons filled with traps and puzzles.

Exploration occurs in a first-person, pseudo-3D perspective, with turn-based combat initiated upon random enemy encounters. Players manage their party's equipment, spells, and health throughout the journey. The game includes systems for recruiting certain monsters to aid in battle and for depositing funds at in-game banks. While some versions featured a casino for gambling, this element was absent from the PC release. Progression is measured by locating the wand fragments, overcoming dungeon challenges, and strengthening the party to confront the final adversary.
